Hi, I’m Sophia - an ICF Certified Coach and CPA.
My career story starts back in my Big 4 accounting days. I had earned my CPA, I had a clear path up, and on paper it all made sense. Something in me kept asking a quieter question though: is this it? For a long time I did what most of us do - I got busier.
Fast forward to corporate finance at fintech startups, and later teaching in higher education. I found myself drawn less to the numbers and more to the people behind them: who was burning out, who was ready for more, who was about to make a big career decision and needed to see their own path clearly. That’s when coaching found me. I completed an ICF-accredited program, and haven’t looked back since!
Today I run my practice, SK Coaching & Consulting, where I’ve coached 100+ professionals, leaders and founders through career pivots, leadership growth, and the in-between moments that don’t come with a playbook. After more than a decade across finance, tech, education, and coaching, I understand both the spreadsheet and the person sitting behind it. I also proudly serve as Treasurer on the ICF BC board, and I love to share career and leadership content online.
My approach with my clients is facilitative, rather than prescriptive. I’m here to help you see yourself clearly, question the defaults you’ve been living by, and decide what you actually want. I do this 1:1 with individuals, and with teams through coaching and workshops that help people reconnect to a shared why.
If something in here feels familiar, I’d love to connect and hear your story :)
